Examples of creative work The ARCH Initiatives Work Expeience project is called Creative Initiatives and is designed to nurture artistic abilities and provide a real opportunity for work experience. It is aimed at helping those who think that they would not be comfortable in a work or college environment.

Anyone wishing to join the programme needs no qualifications or experience. We can offer each individual special help.

Creative Initiatives is flexible, allowing people to work and become involved at their own pace. The atmosphere in the programme is more supportive and less formal than is normally available at work, ensuring that people are comfortable and secure in the knowledge that they can achieve at their own pace and in their own time. Our staff are friendly, approachable and understanding of the problems that arise when you are trying to return to work.

Creative Initiatives is designed to help you gain the skills needed to go into paid work or to progress to further education or training.

Creative Initiatives is a co-operative. As an employee you benefit from the work you do.

You will:
Produce products from the practical design and craft skills you will
learn in a workshop setting.
Use the computer, apply bookkeeping and marketing skills you acquire
to sell your products and help run the business.
Receive help and support to produce your CV.

The co-operative runs within a helpful, friendly relaxed environment with experienced staff to guide you.

The work experience lasts for approximately six months. At the end of this time it is hoped that you will either move on to further education, training or employment. Full support is given to enable you to move on to further opportunities.

ARCH Initiatives will offer you:
Special help with issues related to substance misuse - drugs and alcohol
Advice and information on a variety of issues such as health, housing, benefits etc.
Individual help and support, whenever you need it.
Help with anxiety and stress management.
We will pay you a travel allowance.

If you need your children looked after to help you attend Creative Initiatives, we pay an allowance for registered child care.

Creative Initiatives gives you the opportunity to meet new friends and gain the skills and confidence to progress to further opportunities. If you can give a commitment of your time and attendance, then this programme could be just what you are looking for.
