The Wirral Aftercare Project
HELPING YOU TO STAY DRUG-FREE

The Wirral Aftercare Project is an innovative, multi-agency initiative, which works with those individuals who have become drug free, helping them to sustain their drug-free status.

Our aim is:
To develop an individual package of support based on individual need
To help individuals gain greater self confidence
To develop new skills
To enable individuals to plan and sustain a healthier, drug-free lifestyle

The Aftercare Service provides:
One to One support
Relapse prevention
Complementary therapies
Information, advice & guidance
Education/training opportunities
Employment & volunteering opportunities
Mentor advice & support
Support with housing & welfare benefits
Activities outside of office hours

The Aftercare Service can help you to:
Live a drug-free life
Gain self confidence
Find employment
Develop safer drinking habits
Learn new skills through training
Get a qualification

Criteria

Those individuals considered to be suitable for the Aftercare Service will be one of the following:

Drug Free
Within one month of leaving mainstream rehabilitation/detoxification treatment services
Within one and one and a half months of completing a home detoxification programme
Considered to be ready for the Re-Entry phase of rehabilitation programmes by their keyworkers
Completing a custodial sentence

And will have a Wirral address.
